Watch

One app, two phones.

A couple, a barkada, and a lender with a borrower, each on an Android and an iPhone: the shared feed, wallet, budget, split bill, debts, Sharky, and Reef Run. Narrated and captioned.

Your tindahan, counted.

Business turns your phone into a cash notebook, a point of sale, and an inventory for your sari-sari store, so you know what today really made. Narrated and captioned.

Your gamot, budgeted.

My Meds puts your maintenance meds in one place: what they cost a month, a refill plan before the box runs out, and a reminder at your own times. Narrated and captioned.

One ledger for two phones.

Shared Ledger from start to finish, on an iPhone and an Android phone: make a code, scan it, join, and every log shows up on both. Captions you can turn on.

LoanShark is free now. All of it.

Insights ranks what matters most, the wallet shows what is left for today, one (+) logs anything, and the widget ticks a payment off.

The whole app, in ninety seconds.

Both ledgers, a payment read straight off a receipt, Sharky reacting to what actually happened, and the lessons on Philippine lending law.

New on Google Play

Version 1.40.0

Out October 2026. An update on Play brings everything here, free, with your ledger untouched.

Every release

  • Business for your store

A point of sale that scans barcodes and shows the change, inventory with low-stock alerts and printed labels for loose items, a store credit book for suki who pay later, and a sales book for today, this week and this month.

  • Budgets that roll over

Carry what is left into next month, put several categories on one line, plan an event or trip, and get a warning when a line is nearly used. Budget and My Meds widgets for your home screen.

  • Capture from anywhere

Share receipts, screenshots and PDFs into LoanShark, scan several receipts at once, and export your transactions to CSV.

  • Sharky's nook

Decorate a nook, open a daily gift, grow an Ipon plant, swap guestbook stickers with your Barkada, and play the new Collector card game.

Money going out

Loans you are paying

Add the principal, the provider and the cadence. The whole schedule is generated, every installment gets a reminder, and the total says what you borrowed and how long it runs.

Money coming back

Utang owed to you

Write down who borrowed, what they promised and when. Record what comes back, send a nudge that stays polite, and keep a record you can show without an argument.

Owed to you

₱305,655.88

3 people · ₱32,358.56 past due · since Jun 12, 2025

A few screens. No setup.

No dashboard to configure, no onboarding to sit through. These are real captures, with the names blurred out.

The feed, on open

Everything it does, it does on the phone.

Works with the data off

The whole ledger lives in a database on your phone. No sign-up, no waiting on a server.

The (+) opens the camera

Snap a GCash or InstaPay screenshot, or a till receipt. One sheet reads the amount, who it was with and which way it went, and guesses spend, income, payment or collection before you confirm.

A wallet of every pocket

Banks, e-wallets, cash and credit cards, each in its own design, in pesos or any of 20 currencies. Swipe a card to pay with it, and every payment remembers where the money came from.

Reminders before the deduction

Every installment gets scheduled when you add the loan. Answer it from the notification shade, or tick it off the home-screen widget without opening the app.

Sharky keeps the score

A feed that marks the payment you made, not the amount you owe. It never comments on how deep you are in.

Paluwagan

  • Run a circle or join one: weekly, kinsenas or monthly
  • Payout order as listed or by bunutan
  • Each round fills like an Ipon tank as hulogs come in
  • Remind late members, and share a read-only link

Shared Space

  • Scan a QR to share one live Feed and the whole ledger
  • Live sync both ways, end-to-end encrypted
  • Each entry names who logged it
  • Shared goals show who chipped in
  • Reactions, comments and photos

Privacy

  • No sign-up, works offline; sharing is opt-in and end-to-end encrypted
  • Payment history the app itself cannot edit
  • One backup file, encrypted with your passphrase

Your loans stay on your phone. Only what you share goes online.

No sign-up, no email, no phone number. Sharing with your partner is opt-in, and a shared ledger is encrypted on your phone with a key we never receive.

Payments are written to a ledger the app itself cannot edit or delete, so the history you see is the history that happened.

Backups are encrypted with your passphrase before they leave the app, and you pick where the file goes.

Learn

It is called LoanShark. It should tell you what one is.

16 short reads built into the app, 43 minutes end to end. Every legal claim names the law it comes from, no lender is named, nothing is recommended to you, and each one finishes with something you can do today.

What a loan shark is

The name of this app, and how to recognise the real thing.

  • What "loan shark" actually means

    2 min

Where the phrase comes from, and what makes a lender one.

  • The arithmetic of 5-6

    3 min

Why 20% per cycle is not a 20% loan.

  • Five tells

    3 min

What a predatory arrangement looks like from the outside.

  • Legal, illegal, and the line between

    3 min

What the law already says about lenders and collectors.

Getting out

Order your debts, stop the rollover, know your rights.

  • Write down all of it

    2 min

The step everyone skips, and why it is first.

  • Which one to kill first

    3 min

Avalanche saves more. Snowball finishes more. Pick on purpose.

  • Stopping the rollover

    3 min

The renewal is the trap. Here is how the loop breaks.

  • If the collecting turns ugly

    3 min

What is not allowed, and where it gets reported.

After the debt

The habits that keep you from needing the next loan.

  • The small buffer comes first

    2 min

Even a tiny fund is what stops the next loan.

  • Budget by cutoff, not by month

    3 min

50/30/20 fitted to how you are actually paid.

  • Fund the shocks you can see coming

    2 min

Tuition, Christmas, and the medical bill that is not an emergency.

  • What to do with the freed-up money

    3 min

The dangerous month is the one right after the last payment.

Good debt, bad debt

Debt isn't the enemy — the rate and the reason are.

  • What actually makes debt good or bad

    3 min

Same word, two very different arithmetic problems.

  • Why the same peso amount can cost 3x more

    3 min

Compounding, and why a small-sounding rate rarely is.

  • The trap in the minimum payment

    3 min

Revolving credit turns good access into bad debt through one number.

  • Which debt to keep, and which to kill first

    2 min

Not all debt deserves the same urgency.

Sharky is not licensed to give legal or financial advice, and the lessons say so out loud. They explain how the mechanisms work and what your options are. The choice stays yours.

Questions people ask

Is my data sent anywhere?

Not unless you choose to. Every loan, payment and person who owes you is stored in a database on your phone, with no sign-up. Two things are opt-in: the community board, a public forum that says so before it opens, and Shared Space, where you choose what to share with your partner or family. A shared ledger is encrypted on your phone with a key we never receive.

Does it work without a connection?

Yes, all of it. Adding loans, recording payments, reminders, the feed and reading a list off a photo all run on the phone. Only the community board needs a connection.

What happens if I lose my phone?

Export a backup before that happens. It is a single encrypted file you choose where to put, and restoring it on a new phone brings everything back. Receipt photos are not included, so cards restore without their image.

Is it free?

Yes, all of it, as of version 1.23.0. Every loan, everyone who owes you, encrypted backups and reading a whole list off a photo. There is no subscription and no limit to unlock.

Is there an iPhone version?

Not yet. LoanShark is Android only today. Everything lives on the phone rather than on a server, so there is nothing to sign into from another device in the meantime.
